Food 4 Thought

      Food for Thought   :)

Thank You Lord, for saving my soul !
Thank You Lord, for making me whole !
Thank You Lord, for giving to me,
Thy great salvation, so rich and free.

 The real art of conversation
is not only to say the right thing at the right time
but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing
at a tempting moment.

Kneeling will keep you in good standing.

Man's way leads to a hopeless end --
God's way leads to an endless hope.

Give God what's right -- not what's left.

Don't put a question mark where God puts a period.

Words should be weighed -- not counted.

Yesterday's the past,
Tomorrow's the future,
But today is a Gift.
That's why it's called, the Present.
-- Bill Keane --

 “God is merciful and forgiving,
ever desiring to show favor to His people
when they will obey His voice.”

-- Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 615 --

How to Observe Thanksgiving

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses;
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name.
Make known among the nations what He has done.
Sing to Him, sing praise to Him;
tell of His wondrous acts.”

---I Chronicles 16: 8,9 (NIV)--

Thank You Lord, for saving my soul !
Thank You Lord, for making me whole !
Thank You Lord, for giving to me,
Thy great salvation, so rich and free.

Committed to Serve the Lord
Come, all Christians, be committed to the service of the Lord;
Make your lives for Him more fitted, tune your hearts with one accord.
Come into His courts with gladness, each his sacred vows renew,
Turn away from sin and sadness, be transformed to life anew.
Come in praise and adoration, all who on Christ's name believe;
Worship Him with consecration, grace and love you will receive.
For His grace givae Him the glory, for the Spirit and the Word,
And repeat the gospel story till mankind His name has heard.
-- Eva B. Lloyd --

   "Heaven and earth are no wider apart today
than when shepherds listened to the angels’ song.
Humanity is still as much the object of heaven’s solicitude
as when common men of common occupations
met angels at noonday.”

--Desire of Ages, p.48 --

May
the warm,
guiding star

drive from your
life every shadow;
may the glad song of
angels find an echo in
your heart; may the spirit
of worship in the hearts of
the wise men, and the simple
faith of the shepherds be yours
as, once more, you celebrate the

birth-
day of
The King

During the New Year, with God's help I will...
Like Paul, forget those things which are behind and press forward.
Like Abraham, trust my God implicitly.
Like Enoch, walk in daily fellowship with my heavenly Father.
Like Moses, suffer rather than enjoy the pleasure of sin for a time.
Like Job, be patient and faithful in all circumstances.
Like Joseph, turn my back on all evil advances.
Like Gideon, advance even when my friends are few.
Like Andrew, strive to lead my brother to Christ.

A careless word may kindle strife;
A cruel word may wreck a life.
A bitter word may hate instill;
A brutal word may smite and kill.
A gracious word may smooth the way;
A joyous word may light the day.
A timely word may lessen stress;
A loving word may heal and bless.

 Two Wolves

A native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt.

He said,  "I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one."
The grandson asked him,  "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?"
The grandfather answered,  "The one I feed."

Your Way Out

Indulgence says, “Drink your way out.”
Philosophy says, “ Think your way out.”

Science says, “Invent your way out.”
Industry says, “Work your way out.”
Militarism says, “Fight your way out.”
But Christ says, “I’m your way out.”

Don't Look Backward.
Don't Look Forward.
Look Upward !
